The Johanneshof Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 features all the classical aromas that we love about this variety. Zingy and refreshing, with gooseberry and capsicum notes opening up to mouthwatering passionfruit flavours, with a refreshingly mineral finish.
This varietally expressive wine is easily matched with seafood, fish, salsa and salads. Its acidity will keep it fresh for a good number of years, so there is no rush.

Johanneshof Cellars Pinot Noir Rosé 2022 Maybern Single Vineyard
The Johanneshof Cellars Pinot Noir Rosé displays a light garnet colour, followed by a bouquet of forest berries, red melon, rhubarb and a touch of almond.
Dry in style the palate carries on in the theme of a compote of berries - raspberries, strawberries and cherries all intermingle. Highly textured this Rosé hsa a strong presence and features a very soft acidity. A core of nutty and earthy tones shows the terroir of the steep Maybern vineyard finishing long and smooth.
This single vineyard Pinot Noir Rosé is made from our steep home block 'Maybern' Vineyard behind our winery. Dry-farmed and narrow planted, growing on this site is a labour of love, with most work carried out by hand. The notably soft acidity is achieved by carefully monitoring the ripening in the vineyard and choosing the picking time when all components are in balance. Hand harvested like all Johanneshof wines, it is an elegant, yet gutsy wine with a lengthy finish.

Johanneshof Cellars Marlborough Noble Late Harvest Riesling2018
This richly botrytised style is Warwick and Edel's homage to her home of Rheingau in Germany and its great noble wines called 'Trockenbeerenauslese'
"The amber-hued 2018 Noble Late Harvest Riesling offers up aromas of truffled honey, orange marmalade and apricot preserves. Rich and powerful, this full-bodied sweet wine seamlessly marries together its alcohol (11.5%) and residual sugar (178 grams per liter) without any sense of warmth or cloying, as the stickiness is all cleaned up on the finish by vibrant, ripe-citrus acidity. It's one of the very few New World wines I've tasted that can compare to a German Beerenauslese or Trockenbeerenauslese. I suspect it will keep for decades, but there's no real reason to wait.”
Robert Parker The Wine Advocate' April 2021, Joe Czerwinski - 96/100 points Top Wine of 140 New Zealand wines tasted
Johanneshof Noble Late Harvest Riesling 2018 seduces with its naturally highly concentrated bouquet packed with honey and sundried apricot flavours. This is reflected on the palate with decadent flavours of ripe citrus fruit, honeycomb and apricot, entwined with subtle botrytis which gently unfolds with layers of aromatics. With an oily and rich mouthfeel this luscious dessert wine is sweet but balanced with a good acid spine and excellent harmony and richness. Serve with crème brûlée, apple pie or apricot crumble. 375 ml

Johanneshof Cellars Pinot Noir Maybern Single Vineyard Reserve
New Vintage soon to be released
Our Maybern Vineyard is a tribute Warwick's parents May and Bernard who allowed Warwick to establish a vineyard on their land when if was just a teenager. Located behind our cellar door in Koromiko, our home block vineyard became Marlborough's first steep hillside vineyard when planted in 1977. On this north west facing steep slope mechanical intervention is impossible, so all work is done by hand, except for the mowing which is usually done by our sheep!
Made from hand harvested grapes, our Pinot Noir Maybern is a partial wild ferment where the wine is allowed to ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, unique to our Koromiko vineyard and winery. Nurtured with minimal intervention it is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months and bottled either with a light filtration or none.
